A physically demanding trail with some moderate exposure and tight switchbacks. Lower K2 is often used as a climbing trail from the end of Chez Nic (and the end of Hermiston Drive) up to the pond on the east side of Cartwright. Some of the steeper, looser pitches are challenging. From the pond, you can return down the way you came up (which is the easiest option). Or if you want a more challenging descent, descend Roxy Roller, a DH-only trail with loose shale and some technical features. If you want to go higher from the pond, continue onto the Upper K2 loop and Hairway to Steven.
