lower Riptide is a machine-built MTB-specific flow trail built by Greater Portland NEMBA & Maine Trail Builders in 2026, in partnership with Portland Trails. It's adaptive friendly, approachable for young kids up to expert adults, and features berms, rollers, step downs, step ups, and plenty of doubles. It is a one way trail, and all features are rollable.
Major thanks to GPNEMBA members, the Maine MTB Trail Fund and the Harkleroad & Lawless families for funding this incredible project
**Remember that everywhere else in Fore River Sanctuary is multi-use trail -- yield to slower users!
