Trail crosses wet ground using a mix of cookies and boardwalk and is muddy in places. Steeper parts have steps or stairs. Mainly second growth forest, but with some old growth, grey ghosts, and boggy areas. Melvins Bog is a beautiful rest stop. There are several small lakes along the way. Good swimming in Big Lake.
