A fun easy trail with nice views of the front range, Blue Stem Prairie Open Space was reworked in 2019. The stem of the lollypop is an existing 2 track but most of the loop is newly constructed singletrack. Big Johnson Reservoir is a prime bird watching amenity, and you might see antelope and other wildlife in this wide-open space. The trail dries out early - a good choice for beginner riders or for when it's too icy in other parts of C.Springs.

 Dry. Washout is still there. There's a slight detour; it's well marked and easy to navigate.

      New to riding on dirt (gravel or MTB)? This is your introductory trail to get your tires dirty. It's relatively flat, easy to navigate, and there are zero technical sections (rock gardens, etc.) to trip you up. Just a good, easy loop to learn how to ride on dirt single track. Stay on the path as much as possible; there are plenty of small cacti looking to make tiny holes in unsuspecting tires (have the means to fix a flat tire with you). This would make a fantastic trail to get some nighttime miles in with good lighting (within guidelines, of course 😉).

      great beginner track! Not too hard uphill or downhill... maybe 3~4 switchbacks. Recommend clockwise ride
