Middle Comanche starts with a grinder. It ticks all the boxes. Up-hill. Steep. Loose. Rocks. Sand. Switchbacks. It's both ridiculous and fun. Yep, it's a grinder. You're probably forgiven for pushing in spots. Probably. Once up, Middle Comanche weaves along the canyon's wall just below the rim. Don't let the beauty distract you from the beast--it's technical up here! It's tight and twisty in spots, and there's no shortage of rocks and boulders. You may even encounter some water at the mini "oasis." The climbs and descents are largely brief and will task you with some technical chore--like a front wheel lift or wheelie drop, or perhaps a chain break or meniscus tear. It's a good thing you opted to carry the peanut patty over the knee brace. Just when you start wondering if the fun will ever end, a trail map kiosk will appear. Decision time. Had enough? You can bomb down the Rock Garden trail to the road. Keep in mind, the Rock Garden trail can get busy. So, bombing in moderation is probably a better tactic. Probably. Wanting more? Pedal on to Lower Comanche.

Pro tip: If you want to question life choices or maybe you just like to suffer, opt to pedal up the Rock Garden trail to the canyon rim. You're here already. Lower Comanche will wait until you get back. It's what it does.
