The Perimeter trail is a 5.5 mile loop of intermediate trail that also includes a few more advanced features. Don't worry though, all of the advanced features also have an alternate route around the feature. Scattered throughout the trail are bridges, skinny log rides, rock gardens and wonderful scenery. Some of the more special features include the "Stick-Man", large log pile, and the WoodHenge feature. The Stick-man feature gives you the opportunity to cross multiple logs, rock-gardens, and skinny logs by acting as the cross section of a figure-8, essentially. Just cross the stick man straight across each time and you'll complete the loop and return to the Stick-man for a second pass in a perpendicular direction. On the loop, you'll also find the large log-pile made up of several logs building upon each other to a size of roughly 2 feet tall. Though intimidating at first, just maintain a little speed and you can roll right over. Taking the figure-8 idea from the Stick-man a lot further, the WoodHenge feature is an actual figure 8 made of elevated logs that vary in width. Just for a little extra challenge, the entire feature is also on a slight incline. Test your skills, but watch those derailleurs if you slip a tire.
Starting from the bathrooms go down the fire road past the skills area and will come to the trail crossing. You can go either left of right. The more typical direction of travel is to the right as this is the direction that seems the most fun and gives the rider the opportunity to warm up on the easier sections. This direction does put the biggest climb at the end of the ride though.
