This is a mellow and easy trail which loops around the town forest on terrain that never gets very steep. There is one high bridge that is much easier when riding the loop in the counter-clockwise direction and fairly challenging in the clockwise direction. At two points along this trail there are junctions with the longer and much harder Perimeter Trail, as well as the Fisher Hill Trail. To keep the easiest terrain, stay on the Putnam Loop which is the inner loop.
