Alongside the Blue Tier Descent this has to be the other must do section of trail if you’ve come to play in the Blue Tier area. The actual RC track is 7kms of beautiful, but sometimes rough, trail dropping 450 metres from Jubilee Hill down to the bottom of the Weldborough Pass near Moorina. It passes through beautiful forest, but you might not notice that so much as you enjoy the sweeping, sometimes plunging, descents and navigate your way over the many little obstacles on the way. Even me, who doesn’t like doing the same trail twice in the same year, would be happy for someone to give me a lift back up to the top for a second go at this one.

This trail is just an old overgrown logging road where motorcycles have cleared a singletrack up the middle. Nothing interesting or enjoyable about it for me, as a mountain biker.

Rode up this today and wow! Beautiful track, scenery. Def some hike a bike sections but they were short. Not for everyone but if you like back country natural trails then this is awesome. Web did it as part of a weldborough-atlas-derby-river track-rc track- big chook-weldborough loop. Next time we’ll probably try riding down (then up) from wb. Track in great condition.
