This is not a bike trail, it is a jeep trail. That said, it is still really neat to ride.

The shuttle/hike-a-bike does suck, but it's worth doing. The first face looks like it's going to be the worst, but it's not because you have accepted the suck. The second leg is worse because it looks nicer. But isn't.

The trail itself is a double track jeep trail. But it's not a road, it's very much a 4x4 trail. It is very ridable on a bike, and really cool to do, but you need to know/enjoy picking your own lines, as there are many.

The sheer volume of available lines means that this trails can go from blue to double black, depending on how well/poorly you pick your line. You and your buddies can have completely different experiences on the same ride.

The biggest downside (other than getting to the top) is the sand. There are quite a few transitions between rock and sand. Sometimes the sand is hard and good to ride, sometimes it's like plowing Into sugar.

Overall it's worth doing, and I will do it again, but it wouldn't be a trail is regular rotation.

Had alot of fun. Only got in half, just to Rojo split. Agree with other rider: has a Amasa Back feel to it. Absolutely only intermediate what I rode. I’ll be back and ride the top asap. Trailhead not marked at all. Apple map to “Red Mountain Trail System” and parked in random gravel lot. Dirt road splits into 4 forks after 100 yards. Middle right jeep road fork is the correct one. Lots of OHV trail intersections so take a map.

Below and adjacent to Rojo it's pretty intermediate. The real fun on Red Mountain starts above rojo.

We hope you've been enjoying Trailforks!
