Orange blaze, the Scout trail connects the primitive campgrounds and Overlook Shelter 5 to the parking area and Park Office. Mostly doubletrack, part of the Palmetto Trail uses a segment of the trail. Part of the Scout trail was used in the Southern Classic MTB series but is now bypassed in favor of the Cowasee trail.

Start at the parking lot and head north to TS 31. Continue straight or turn right. Trail will loop back to parking lot.
