This non-motorized trail will take you up to the lower irrigation ditch in Second Creek. This ditch appears to be unused and has brush growing in it. The ditch goes south to private land or northeast to second creek The trail is probably a better hike than bike but if you like downhill rides early or late in the season, here's an option to ride/push your bike up then ride down. The trail crosses Second Creek once and a dry draw on the way up the hill. The trail is not that technical but the slope will tax you on the way up. Good views of the Salmon River chasm from the upper end.
Park on the wide spot which looks like an old rock pit on the east side of the highway. Ample parking here. Look for the old road several hundred feet long upslope following the powerline. It provides access to the trail up Second Creek.
