The start of this trail isn't always maintained the best. But has been cleared in the last year. After the first 0.6 miles it clears out is regularly kept up. It is best done as a point to point. The trail gets steep in spots and have the second half has some technical rock gardens. There are also some exposed edges. Expect the trail to take around 35-60 minutes to ride.

 caples fire totally ruined this trail. it's illegal to ride it before Dec 1, 2019, but it is a total mess and will take a lot of work to rebuild

      not currently rideable since caldor fire. probably 20 downed trees and at least 2 miles of chest high whitethorn bushwhacking. wouild be a great trail but will need a crew and a few days of work to clear it out every season of whitethorn

      Completely un rideable at this time, tons and tons of downed trees across the trail, spots of trail gone from uprooting trees and falling rocks smashing it away, large rocks in other spots

      I rode up from the bottom. Mostly good riding, some hike-a-bike.
      The lower 2/3s of the trail is still in good shape after the fire. After that, it turns into a steep, dusty fire road, which didn't seem fun in either direction, so I turned around after a nice viewpoint.
