This is primarily a hike trail, but mountain bikes can ride on it. But for a bike it is narrow in many places with steep washed out sections. Pedaling is difficult because of the narrow edges and prickly goosberry bushes that aim to take the skin off your shins.

As a hike trail it is great, but physically demanding because the altitude is pretty extreme and there is a lot of sun exposure. Only brief sections through the shady trails. Though it has little up and down steep sections the trail generally traverses the south slope of Mount Holly without too much elevation change. There are amazing views at the various saddles you reach, and along the large and open meadows that view down to Eagle Point where you can see the ski runs.
