mtb Climb up Upper Winter and Zion Trail to access half of Stutervant from Chantry Flats. Fun loop on a ebike. Its a nice flowy trail with some extremely exposed areas. Youll pick up speed on a straight section then there will be a blind exposed right. Be ready to brake! Ride with caution, respect the mountain, ride within your skill level, and you'll be fine. Would love to ride this trail from Mt.Wilson!
PS watch out for hikers. Theres a lot of them climbing up from Chantry Flats.

mtb Woohoo! Sturdevant has re-opened. Good stuff! Forested riding, tons of exposure and beautiful tree canopy. Single track seems to last forever. Sturdevant delivers the goods! Dryview

mtb opens on 10/2 up to the Sturtevant trail camp, trail conditions unknown at this time but probably rough considering the length of time it's been closed Dryview

mtb Dropping in from the observatory does not indicate closed. It should. There is major erosion. Dry loose loam covered in leaves and pine cones litter the trail. In some sections, you can barely identify the trail. Downed trees and branches, overgrown brush is everywhere. But worse than overgrown vegetation is swarms of mosquitoes from observatory all the way down to campsites. The bottom of Sturtevant is definitely closed. The paved climb back to the main road has boulder/rock fall everywhere. This place feels abandoned and nature is reclaiming its facilities. The road entrance has the following sign posted. This sign should be posted at the observatory trail head. Dryview

mtb The trail is very dry and dusty. There is overgrown vegetation at the top and bottom of the trail that needs to be cleared before it becomes unridable. There are still a few trees down across the trail closer to the top. Very Dryview

mtb Ridiculously dry and slippery with a heavy acorn layer on top of loose dry dirt. One major tree still down about a mile from the top. Several areas almost completely washed out. Still quite doable. Very Dryview
