At times this trail is steep and exposed. It does not include the summit of Mt MacKenzie but you do get a great view of it. The trail goes along the ridge between Sub-Peak and the saddle just under Mt MacKenzie summit. Magnificent 360 views.
To summit Mt MacKenzie from this trail go to the end of the ridge and scramble down and along a very exposed and loose Col before ascending/scrambling to the summit.
