Swampside is an awesome, challenging, but well defined trail with all sorts of fun obstacles such as bridges, rock features and roots (and lots of mud when it is wet). It is best done from the Fairbanks Trail side above but, if you like climbing, start from The Main Trail side. The trail is about 80% moderately flat with a short, somewhat steep, technical climb at the Fairbanks Trail side. Great trail, not to be missed! It is good for confident beginners and above.
Swampside is accessed at the same spot as Toejam, off of The Main Trail, between Tonto and Pete's Bridge. At the upper end it is accessed off the Fairbanks Trail, just above the Kitchen intersection and below the Number Five turn-off.
