Lake Talquin State Forest's 9.3-mile W.D. Lines Trail System is for hiking and off-road biking and has two loops: Talquin Loop (blue) and Longleaf Loop (orange). Where the 2 trails overlap, the trail is marked blue. The off-road bicycle trail takes the cyclist through a variety of terrain, including pine flatwoods and sandhill communities on the northern portion of the trail, grading down to hardwood and floodplain forests along the shoreline of Lake Talquin. Moderate obstacles such as low clearances, logs, quick turns and tight areas between trees are intended to enhance the ride. Beginners should maintain slower speeds for easier navigation of these obstacles. Features: Off-road biking, Camping, Hiking, and No Hunting. Facilities: Hike-in primitive group camp. Located about 2 miles from the trailhead. No electric or water. For information and reservations, visit ReserveAmerica.com or call 1-877-879-3859. Picnic pavilion, Restroom, Charcoal grill. Be prepared: Wear proper gear, including a helmet. Bring/Carry plenty of water (no water onsite), bug spray and snacks. Directions: Approximately 30 miles from downtown Tallahassee- take I-10 West until Exit 181 (Quincy). Head south on Highway 267 for ~7 miles. Turn left onto Cook’s Landing Road. The entrance is ~1.5 miles on the right.
