The Baconator is a fast flowy reclaimed/rebuffed trail with some steeper lines and dirt/wood jump features. As some of the older features become dated please remember to always look before you leap. It can be ridden as the second half of the combination Sauce on Side/Baconator run from the top or it can be ridden solo earlier in the season providing the snow level allows access to the trailhead. All around fun trail for your 145mm to 200mm bike.

Where the heck is the trail head, no signage or visable trails. Walked down potential sites, all overgrown with fallen trees.

Trail is all clear of trees and debris. A few berms are a little beat down and soft in spots so be aware. Will need some trail love come spring.

Glad you enjoyed the Sauce on Side to Baconator combo run. If you have it GPS it would be nice to get SOS (the first half of last nights decent) listed on here as well.

I do have my run on gps, but original GPS of Baconator doesn't line up with what we rode exactly. Looks like someone just drew a line in, roughing it in. here is the link to my ride www.trailforks.com/ridelog/view/191104

I will go out tomorrow and figure out where the baconator trailhead is from the road that way i can fix the GPS, otherwise the trails wont line up on the map once I add SOS. and i'm not too sure where the trail changes from SOS to Bacon exactly so I'll get that sorted out too while I'm out

This might help with GPS. The trail forks segment is named Baconator but is both trails right now, I broke them down on Strava as best as I could.

If you go left off the road at the 7k marker across/under the power lines you should be able to find the entrance to the Baconator. We enter from there in the early season at 7k and ride only the Baconator when there is still snow up high. On your way in you will cross a moto trail and go up and down some. There are some downed trees at this time. Once you get past the last downed tree the trail merging in on the right is the end of Sauce on Side. The video above shows the end of SOS at 4:21. Not sure if that helps but you can always PM me and I can show you person sometime if you like.

Shouldn't be confusing any longer. Temporary trail signs went up today. One at the beginning of Sauce on Side and a Baconator one where the trails merge.(Start of Baconator)
We tried to make the transition from the new trail to the old seamless with the same feel. I guess its job done since it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins without the signs. Smile
