Rewarding trail with great views. Is a converted hiking trail, and does have some fairly strenuous hike-a-bike to get to the high point. Technical sections on the way down, so definitely worthy of the black diamond rating. The best part of the trail was hopping in a warm stream fed hot springs at about the 1/3 point.

The name of this trail is actually wrong ! The Steamer is the trail in Reykjadalur valley where there is allot of Steaming and bubbling mudpools.. so If you see a video from steamer trail it is not from this trail at all. this one is a Hika bike AM. vs the Steamer is becoming a man made trail wide track...
cheers. magne Icebike

So what is the name of this trail? Thank you in advance. I am thinking of doing 2 day stop over in Iceland on my way home to the U.S. from France in the coming month.

Went 60%, had to turn around becouse of snow on a very steep hill and I didn't like sliding down if I would loose my feet. I will try again in August when the snow has cleared.
