Our new ‘Through the Forest’ singletrack route is recommended for cyclists with some basic off-road riding skills and is not suitable for trailers or tag-a-longs. The trail offers an exciting challenge for everyone; the narrow track winds its way through the pine Forest and the technical bends and tight turns mean that the faster you go, the greater the challenge. The trail is edged by rocks and is waymarked with rectangular posts with blue arrows.

      I love this trail on my Focus e-mtb as it allows me to stay in a (high) gear all the way round but has plenty of tight spaces and sharp turns (not to mention rocks placed at “low pedal height” and “handlebar-width gaps between trees”) to force you to concentrate and have to slow down a bit. Please also note this is a ONE-WAY (clockwise) trail, not a two-way. It also crosses several other (walking and gentler-cycling) trails (with small “exclamation mark” warning signs beforehand) so please respect the users of those other paths to prevent us bikers getting negative reactions from other Moors Valley customers.

      Not really a blue - more of a green. Great for kids who are new to singletrack though, and the wide north shore sections went down well. Extremely mellow gradient makes it especially suited to little legs.
