Difficult from Nevada side, but rewards with awesome views down into Carson Valley, then shady steady work before abrupt unclimbable stairstep switchbacks get you up to the saddle in a hurry From there you can continue the TRT to Star Lake or go right and out on Cold Creek and Powerline, as I did.

      About a dozen small snow drifts near Mott canyon, all short but some on steep side hills. Other than that, it's riding great.

       If going up, ride the Heavenly maintenance road when given the opportunity. It skips a really rocky and nearly unrideable uphill section.
