Upper Lake view is tight, punchy singletrack that drops in and out of multiple small gullies. The surface is mostly well packed, with rocky segments and some loose chunk in several of the gullies. There are no particularly notable technical features, though some of the entry/exits of the gullies are somewhat steep. There is some exposure during a few sections of the trail, but this generally doesn't coincide with the more difficult sections.
Overall, Upper Lake View is notably more challenging than Lower/Middle Lake View, but less so than the Calderas or Mother. It is a good trail to ease yourself into Bootleg's trail surface/exposure before moving onto more challenging offerings. It is also a convenient way (combined with Middle or Lower Lake View) to add a little extra to a loop that ends at the parking lot. From Upper Lake View, you can access the lower sections of most DH runs.
Starts at the main trail head.
