Mix of forest roads and single track in old road bed. In the clockwise direction the the first 1.2 miles requires some steep fire road climbing before turning on the singletrack in the old road bed.. One small section of single track connects the upper and lower sections around the 2 mile mark. Switch backs are somewhat steep to get you down to the lower section. On the lower section, as of Fall 2023 there are prescribed burn piles that must be navigated around. Views are beautiful and makes for a nice upper mountain XC mountain bike option. For more miles combine with a Swift Hwy Trail connection to the Grant Hill Loop.

Access Info

Park at Cunningham Campground Trail Head Parking. Cross the Swift Hwy and ride around the locked gate. Continue on the fire road about .10 mile up hill and then stay to the left to begin the loop in the clockwise direction.

As of May 25, 2024: This loop needs some serious love. Downed trees and thinning piles are very plentiful. None of the downs are insurmountable to get over, and most of the forest service piles have ride arounds (but at least five of them have to be negotiated, delicately, off bike to get around). Needless to say, all this adds up to no real chance to get your 'flow' going.
Pro Tip: Do this clockwise! The tight switchback section on NE edge is best descended. Per earlier comment, they're not too tight to ride for any decent intermediate level rider.

We hope you've been enjoying Trailforks!
