This is a mountain bike club set up to do trail building and maintenance in the Eastern Panhandle area of West Virginia.
I guess I should start by saying that THUMB stands for The Hillbillies Unite and Mountain Bike. I came up with this name on my way back from a trail building class put on by IMBA. I was trying to explain to a small group of people were I lived in WV and we all know the old thing of giving them the bird and saying we live in the thumb. The rest just kind of came to me. We can vote on the name at a meeting but thats what it is for now.
Our goal is reach Chapter Status under IMBA. We are in the process of that now. As an IMBA chapter we will have access to all the weapons in IMBAs quiver. Hoping to eventually with lots of help get a good trail system in at Sleepy Creek and to one day host IMBA in our town for their training seminars. Also wanting to get some trails in at Poor House Farm Park for the whole family!
