Jul 3, 2026 @ 7:34pm (America/Winnipeg) Jul 3, 2026 | tried to ride as much as we could as part of bikepacking trip. only reporting problem areas here, unnamed trail segments were for the most part fairly clear sailing–too much good to report on 😄. ordered north to south (as we rode it). unfortunate that this isn't reportable as finer segments. -Big Creek to Otter Falls- sections very overgrown with trees and tall grass; wet boggy sections; largely impassable. reroute on 307. several cool new steel bridges, but no navigable trails between them yet. -Jessica Lake Trailhead–Cabin Lake trails-narrow, rocky, slippery bedrock, nice hiking trail, possibly passable unloaded. rejoined NWT-TCT via the 'TCT Cabin Lake Road to Hwy 307' further south, but would likely be do-able from Cabin Lake trail parking lot at Red Rock—needs further report. -Brereton Lake segment on east side of hwy 307 is quite overgrown with old fallen trees and tall grass. very bumpy and slow. recommend rerouting on hwy 307 between hwy crossing and campground; or at the rail crossing if you want to skip some bedrock and a little hike-a-bike (but a great view).
