SavePinehurst is a tight singletrack with berms, drops, and log piles, with many sharp turns and root sections - great for practicing technical skills.
The trail is bordered on two sides by canals, and passes through Pine, Palmetto, and Melaleuca woods, which provides a lot of tree cover and shade. i
Pinehurst is conveniently located near many residential communities and the turnpike - a great venue for a quick morning or after-work ride.
There are three, relatively new sections of trail that are among the most challenging on the entire trail. Lightening/Thunder, Truck Stop and Firebreaker. Start with Lightening and move through the other two sections. But be aware, there are no directional signs pointing to Lightening so keep an eye out for the sign "Lightening" to your right. If you do these sections, along with the other black diamond sections, the trail is 5.5 miles long. All the bypasses make it a great trail for riders of all skill levels.
