Description:
Nelson Trail is back! The upper part next to the highway has been cleared and deadfall has been logged out. Expect a different experience from what you had in the past. Much dirt has been washed off the trail so it is rockier and doesn't ride as fast. The upper mile is decomposed granite and sandy. Below that is back to dirt and rock. Signature features like log rides are gone. But new features including jumps and water diversions have been built. The ride thru Sequoia and some of the rock sections will look familiar. Thanks to those doing this work! The trail is somewhat clear of brush now but with the reduced tree cover ferns and other brush will come in thick once growing season starts.
