Description:
Road has been reopened (washouts caused by culverts not being cleared in spring). Great 300ft waterfall that the shelf of trail has sloped from erosion/lack of upkeep, but still ride-able. The goal with this trail is to enjoy the scenery on the way up, likely walking a bike a good amount, and keeping some speed on the downhill to navigate tight spaces and maintain grip. Along the first 2.5 miles you will come across 1-2 creeks and 3 trees you must dismount to clear. Two trees can be cleared with manual saw & 30min each (14in round diameter). The top 2.5 miles are still flowy, hero dirt, natural banked turns, with consistent wet roots to keep your speed up, flawless top half hands down! The lake beyond has great brook and rainbow trout to fish as well, mayflies or wooley bugs in black w/ hairs cut to ~1/2 cm. TRAIL HAZARD at ~2.5, a large tree was uprooted and left a crater in the trail. You can skirt the inside edge on your bike downhill and I did as I was at speed and it is a blind corner, highly suggest you do the same if you are keeping speed else brake when seen and walk it. I would probably rate this trail a stronger blue, maybe close to a black. Highly worth it for the views, natural flow top half, possibilities up top (lake/peak/more trails)
