Description:
The trail remains incorrect on trail forks. As mentioned in a previous post, the crossing at the first moraine has been washed out, so the trail turns down hill for about a 1/2 mile. Then, you get to a section where a rope has been secured to climb/fall/scramble to the bottom of the moraine...with your bike. Then, another 50-yards down hill to get another rope to climb out. It's nothing too technical, it's just hard if you're alone and trying to get your bike up by yourself.
Once up on the other side, you head back up the hill to reconnect with the original trail. The only challenge is this uphill section hasn't been built with bikes in mind, so there are few hike-a bike sections. But once back on the trail, you pop out from the tree line and there are stunning views of the mountain and the surrounding area, and the trail essentially parallels the topography, which was a welcome change after riding up Loowit #216: Castle Ridge - Sheep Canyon.
