My favorite part of MoPi. Great little trail and definitely more green than blue. Definitely great for a decent beginner but actually still fun for advanced riders too. Just don't let the flow tempt you to rip too hard! Advanced riders might find it pretty difficult to resist the urge.

This trail is a TON of fun. Lots of tricky rock gardens but it flows super fast. It doesn't get much use, and I've seen wildlife (moose, elk, deer, and lots of birds) every time I've ridden it.

The fact that there are no leash dog days combined with allowing bikes, this is a 5 star for my border collie and I. Kind of like a pleasure cruise for a few miles that you can have fun with if you want.

I usually keep my timber bell on during the climb to alert the shuttle bros before they skid into me. It’s good both ways, but if you bash into someone on your descent, that’s on you, because it’s super popular both ways. Also, it’s nowhere near as sketchy as the also bidirectional Spiro.

I've ridden this at least annually since 1994. Veteran advice: there is no shame in walking - most riders do. The reward is significant. Use that "granny gear" big enough to serve a turkey dinner, and you'll at least get a good run into it. Some riders will grind it straight to the top.

Definitely gets your blood going and reminds me of climbing the Germania Pass road in Alta: steep as *$#@.

So torn here. Beautiful up and down. However, this is a collision accident waiting to happen. Almost had to bail off my bike on the way up as a DH rider was going too fast to stop around a blind curve. Given the proximity of Armstrong and the crest access, something badly needs to be done here. Designated up days? Alternating days? Another up only trail to connect from Armstrong? Again, can't recommend because it was dangerous beyond what is necessary but it was a beautiful trail for sure. Sad.

Nice easy climb up toward to ski jumps. Switchbacks are easy to get up. Great way to climb a mountain. I enjoyed it

Note - when you get to the top of BLT - you come out on a double track with a gate on your left. The trails goes through that gate and on down and follows the road to the right. Don't go up the fire road (unless you want to see the lookout tower.

Many spots on this trail used to be buttery smooth but water has eroded them into interesting tricky jank. However I personally am against “fixing this up“.
This is a good old-school tight and tricky trail that can flow great once you learn it. If it’s not your bag then please go ride the other side.

Definitely alot steeper than the lower trail. About 2/3 of the way up, after crossing the road, this thing gets pretty steep. Not a technical climb just a hard push. Gets a bit easier once you come to a series of switchbacks prior to reaching the top. The downhill is decent but it's a shared trail so beware of hikers, especially on the weekends.

This part of the Mormon trail is an easier version of the upper trail. Anyone with a moderate level of fitness should be able to do it. There is some chunky parts of the trail justifying the Blue rating but not much in the way of exposure. Combined with the upper section this trail is great for working on sustained climbing. You can get going pretty fast on the descent but be careful as this trail is mixed use with hikers.

I am always amazed they have not fixed this trail up. It has been in basically the same condition for the past 25 years and it has so much potential. It is still worth an occasional ride and you likely will not see anyone else, but river bottom rocky riding isn't the best.

It's only a sketchy climb if you are riding out of control downhill. Armstrong to Pinecone is a fantastic beautiful and shaded way to climb to the top of the crest. It is also one of my personal favorite downhills, but it is a two-way trail and should be ridden as such. There are plenty of places on it with good sight lines that you can open it up as long as you are careful when it gets tighter lower down. Everyone can safely enjoy this trail both up and down.

A great route to explore the area and cut your teeth on some tough bikepcking.

The route took us 3 days. There are plenty of water sources along the way, just don’t be too hardheaded to stop. A bike shop en route in Kimbell jct, and the Olympic center outside of the city. Both are good places to get water and a battery charge if you’re using strava.

Sleeping was a bit tough though, as everything is pretty inclined.

Great shade. We did the route early June 2018. Could be saved for later in the season.

What a great trail. The people riding it against the grain, not so much. This trail is the only place someone has snarled at me while I am standing over my bike yielding right of way as they climb past me.

Trail was very wet and muddy 2 weeks ago and it had not rained for a couple weeks. I would recommend riding this later in the summer when it is hot out as the trail would be drier. Watch out for hunters in the fall season. The trail from the top of big mountain down to little dell reservoir is a lot bettter for biking.

Puke hill is an abomination. So many new trails going in to the Park City area, and there is no option for rerouting off this crap climb to one of the best sections of Singletrack in the entire country? Pinecone ridge from Park City is one of the best climbs around, but not all climbers are coming from Park City, probably more from SLC, leaving Puke Hill a wart on the ass of an otherwise otherworldly ride.

Puke Hill is, for me, an aspiration! I admire the folks who take this in one shot and it is a way for me to measure progression toward ideal fitness.

The climb is part of the charm of the route and adds to the appeal. If one can proudly proclaim that they've conquered the climb, they have earned joyful passage to the remaining ride.

Fantastic climb to Wasatch Crest. Rides beautifully in either direction. Mostly climbs in stands of aspen trees, then higher up, pines. Nicely shaded and protects from wind. Comes out right at the top of Puke Hill, which is the brief, painful sun exposed fireroad access traditionally used by Wasatch Crest shuttlers riding north from Guardsmans Pass. From town via Armstrongs/ Pinecone ridge is just over 2900ft climb. Felt like less.

As a climb this trail is pretty steep and tiring. Requires good fitness and decently pedal-able bike otherwise you'll be hurting. Higher up the trail get's rockier with lots of switchbacks. I rode it last June 2017 and there were no signs indicating it was uphill only, and there were many people going down. Nice views.

Worth noting that the gate to the UOP closes usually around 8pm! You can park outside the gate and pedal in, but if you're doing an afterwork pedal - don't get locked in!

Upper Rattlesnake is steep. I know. I have tried to ride it 26 times. It also has monster water bars and jagged embedded rocks and boulders. 458 Strava riders have been brave enough to even try to climb it. It's only about 1/10 of a mile long, but when you get to it after riding the lower 6/10 of a mile, regular humans are so tired they won't even attempt to ride that last part. My son has ridden the whole thing multiple times, on a hardtail. He's not human. I do know the water bar steps are getting bigger. Fall and spring are the best times to attempt the climb. The ground is firmer then.

Riding down it is fun if you think, 'the more rugged the better'. It's a little tough, but not too bad. Good intermediate riders should be able to do it. But if you don't make it there are a lot of rocks to land on to make you regret the attempt. I have ridden down it many times on a hard tail.

Beware of hikers. It's a popular hiking trail. I don't know why this trail has a 3.8 star rating. It is just a trail, that has existed for decades, that goes straight down the mountain with no forethought on how to build a trail.

really hard to beat for the area. One of the best. I always see a ton of wild life too. Just be a bit careful with your speed when you do not have a good line of sight. There are a lot of people that run or bike up it too. I usually make is a loop but to each their own
