First third has minimal shade, middle part is rocky, last third is extremely steep. You would have to be in pretty amazing shape to ride the whole way up. Rainy and tacky when we rode, but a fun adventure!

Great for horses, not for bikes. Going down might be ok but I would not recommend going up. Rating should probably be updated. Nearby Bunchgrass is a much better option.

From the Franklin basin road. You have to zoom in to see it. Its a gravel road from the highway.

How do you access this trail? It looks a long ways away from any trailhead or other trail. I'm hoping to possibly climb this trail and then descent the other side (Long Hollow) but I'm not sure about the logistics of this.

This map shows dirt bikes are not allowed. However the forest service MVUM shows dirt bikes being allowed.

I dont know about "awesome climb". Maybe if you're in shape and capable like Nino it's an awesome climb, or on an e-bike. I thought it was excessively difficult. The climb is significantly harder than providence canyon even though they're rated the same. I can clean the providence climb with moderate effort. This thing is just a monster. It's a sick out-and-back though. Just expect to hike it more than you think.

Overall good trail! If your going to bike I would recommend either shuttling it or take the fire road to the East going up! It’s a 7 mile descent and the first 3.5 is pretty underwhelming for a black diamond trail the top half is more of a blue square trail. But if your looking to shred some fast rocky descents the bottom half is A TON of fun. I would wait till mid may to go so the snow melt has had adequate time but overall a fun descent!

Not a good biking trail for the average rider. Needs to be changed from blue to black or red.

Rode 7/24, up Spring Hollow, out Syncline, and down Dry Canyon. Dry, dusty, and challenging to ride/hike the first 2 miles of SH, due to slick dust, loose rock, and 95 degree heat! Awesome epic views at the top. 1 Moose. 2 Cows. Zero MTB besides me. (2 nice hikers). Go get some!
