Just finished riding elbow loop yesterday counter-clockwise. Very dry conditions. The downhill portion leading up to tombstone is in great shape (if you're riding the direction I was). The repairs look close to complete. The rock gardens are now much more manageable than last year. Expect baseball sized rocks rather than watermelon sized rocks. There remains 2 river crossings where you will be forced to ford the river/creek.

Did the same ride on Aug 19th and only found one river crossing.

Rode this Saturday 7 July counterclockwise. Damp in places near the top of Little Elbow (Romulus and Tombstone) from last week's downpours, but overall dry. Only one bridge still washed out (maybe 8-10 km from the finish along Big Elbow) but it was only knee deep - refreshing! Pack crocs if you want to keep your feet dry. Yup, there are lots of rocks; the larger ones are on the return trip (downhills) along Big Elbow. Saw a moose, lots of deer and grouse. Bear scat in evidence particularly along Big Elbow. Make noise especially before blind corners, or if you are carrying speed down the trail. Great weather and outstanding scenery!

We rode this on 16 July 2018. The trail has now been pretty much repaired after the floods and makes for a great ride. Go Counter clockwise for the best loop imho, ride out from the parking lot and over the new bridge keep going out to the plateau where you can stop for a break and to soak in the views. Get on the long downhill which has been repaired but is still sketchy in places, don't forget to take the left at the bottom. The new repaired sections add some climbing but make the loop rideable. We found one river crossing where the bridge hasn't been replaced. Glad to see the loop is back. One correction, it's 42km from the parking lot.

Trail is in fantastic fall condition. Mostly damp with some extended wet sections and puddles. The first couple climbs from the Little Elbow trail head were icy down the sides with hard snow down the middle of the trail so, mostly doable without studs - had to walk a few sections - though studs would have made these sections a piece of cake...mmmmm, cake! Go enjoy this beautiful trail!

Unlike Big Elbow, which is just a bit wet, Little has some very wet and muddy sections. You will have a muddy bike and a muddy you when you get to the bottom. You can ride around many of the wet spots. It’s wet, but if yiu don’t mind cleaning you’re bike it is good to go.
