Microclimate achieved notoriety when it was featured in the World Enduro Series event in Whistler back in 2014, the trail, built through a beautiful mature forest, is steep, rough and awesome. The climb up is quite challenging on steep gravel access roads on Blackcomb mountain, in the summer heat it can be a killer. A variation or a great second lap (with slightly less climbing) is to ride Hey Bud, which has recently been re-worked and is arguably slightly easier than Microclimate if you follow the new routing.

some erosion on steep rooty descents. You're basically riding over a spiderweb of roots. some occasional puddles and mud, but overall in good conditions.

Road has become pretty punched by the continual traffic of WB Side-by-sides of late. Saw 6 on 2 different climbs yesterday. They don't seem to enjoy yielding to bikers either. Gotta love the smell of gas!
