We saw a big snow field after the first corner dropping in and decided not to try it. Good chance it's okay but it is likely muddy between the snow patches. Probably needs a little more time to melt out. Snow Coveredview

Climbing conditions are great right now. Speed king and hooligan are epic!! Upper mazama to peak tie + spence peak pretty good very little mud. Couple old drifts entering upper hooligan nothing major.

The fire conditions have improved enough for Spence Mountain to reopen. Ride carefully as the fire risk is still extreme. Dryview

Spence Mountain trails and trailheads have been temporarily closed due to the extreme fire risk. Just a year ago a human caused fire started two miles up South Ridge trail and fortunately was quickly extinguished. This year Oregon Dept of Forestry has been stretched thin and doesn’t have the people or equipment to respond to a fire so JWTR (landowner) decided to temporarily close Spence. Dryview
