Jun 9, 2026 @ 11:01pm (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 9, 2026 | Both sections between West Fork and Valley Forge trail camps are a bit overgrown. Some PO especially closer to West Fork. A bit of poodle dog. A few gully crossings require dismount. No deadfall. | Ideal | view
May 10, 2026 @ 3:07pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 10, 2026 | Redbox to the Switzer section is clear from any downed trees. A little overgrown in the first 30% of the ride but, overall, great ride today. | Ideal | view
Apr 27, 2026 @ 8:35am (America/Los_Angeles) Apr 27, 2026 | After descending Kenyon Devore we turned right and rode this trail. Trails has been maintained and is great fun! | Dry | view
Apr 27, 2026 @ 8:32am (America/Los_Angeles) Apr 27, 2026 | Would definitely rate as a black and not a blue! | Ideal | view
Apr 27, 2026 @ 8:30am (America/Los_Angeles) Apr 27, 2026 | Wow! Trail is clear. There are a few log/creek crossings. Reminded me of the Rim trail with lots of exposure with terrain that sloughed off. One of my new faves in the San Gabes. | Ideal | view
Mar 30, 2026 @ 12:48am (America/Los_Angeles) Mar 30, 2026 | Trees have been cleared. About half way down the trail, around a blind corner there’s a thick branch hanging down in the middle of the trail perfectly at head level. I tried to break it off but not luck. | Ideal | view
Feb 8, 2026 @ 10:54pm (America/Los_Angeles) Feb 8, 2026 | Trail was clear and well-marked. There were some parts where it had eroded though and it was hard to stay on the line. Compared to Gabrielino, which is clearly a blue trail, this was much harder. But so beautiful. | Ideal | view
Dec 21, 2025 @ 5:51pm (America/Los_Angeles) Dec 21, 2025 | 2 Large trees down across trail, blocking trail...but still a very run ride. | Ideal | view
Nov 23, 2025 @ 5:21pm (America/Los_Angeles) Nov 23, 2025 | Large tree down over trail lengthwise, passable but a squeeze | Variable | view
Oct 26, 2025 @ 9:41pm (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 26, 2025 | Ideal | view
Oct 20, 2025 @ 11:44am (America/Los_Angeles) Oct 20, 2025 | 2 medium and 1 large trees across the trail as of 10/18/25 | Ideal | view
Sep 23, 2025 @ 7:39pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 23, 2025 | hike | Unknown | view
Jun 11, 2025 @ 7:40am Jun 11, 2025 | KD is running pretty great right now It's a bit overgrown in a few spots, but truly not bad | Ideal | view
Jun 10, 2025 @ 5:49pm Jun 10, 2025 | little overgrown in spots but good! | Dry | view
Jun 10, 2025 @ 4:54pm Jun 10, 2025 | one downed tree and also pretty overgrown in spots, still passable though just watch your speed | Dry | view
May 26, 2025 @ 2:53pm May 26, 2025 | Rode Strawberry loop 5/16. Upper half of Gab is in good shape. Lots of fuel reduction work up by Redbox. The lower half gets very brushy and there are a few sections with poison oak encroaching over the trail that is very hard to avoid. | Dry | view
May 15, 2025 @ 1:03pm May 15, 2025 | There seems to be some debate over access to the section ; but there is nothing wrong with it. The fire didn’t reach this area at all. I think the Forrest service needs to maintain their signs | Dry | view
Apr 16, 2025 @ 6:33am Apr 16, 2025 | Brushy the entire length, but still worth the effort. | Dry | view
Mar 5, 2025 @ 9:00am Mar 5, 2025 | "Closed" area, because of fires. A friend who rode up to Brown Mt. and back down to El Prieto a couple of days ago said they have bulldozed a 12 ft wide road all the way to the top. ALL single track is gone. Dips, gullies, trailside trees - gone. And since the bulldozing was done quickly, there is erosion and small slides everywhere on the road. Friend said El Prieto was okay, just signs of little use lately. | Variable | view
Feb 25, 2025 @ 1:29pm Feb 25, 2025 | Rode it 2/2, lots of branches, slough and blowbown. Knowing LoweLives have bigger issues on their hands right now, I tried to do my part by clearingas many branches from the trail as I had time for, also resestabloshed tread in areas with the most significant sloughing and cut a few small-medium logs. Upper half of the trail still has some small branches in trail but is still rideable, clear a section of you have time. lower half is much better, but does have two logs as shown in photos. Enjoy! | Ideal | view
Feb 23, 2025 @ 11:46pm Feb 23, 2025 | Lots of small branches and twigs on the trail surface on the upper half, which made the exposed sections feel a bit sketchier. A couple exposed spots have a pretty narrow tread as past reporters have mentioned, also on the top half of the trail. One tree down in the rock garden at the bottom and I think another higher up the trail although I don’t fully remember. No issues climbing over them. Saw a bear near the intersection with the Gab | Ideal | view
Dec 28, 2024 @ 8:32am Dec 28, 2024 | ebike Running great, only one minor tree issue, a little overgrown but generally good | Dry | view
Nov 29, 2024 @ 5:52pm Nov 29, 2024 | Great condition! Such a treat to have this trail in SoCal! | Wet | view
Oct 19, 2024 @ 7:15pm Oct 19, 2024 | Clear but a few dismounts may be in order. | Dry | view
Aug 25, 2024 @ 8:27pm Aug 25, 2024 | Large fir tree across the trail just above West Fork CG, easy to pass but requires dismount | Dry | view |
