This two-way trail is as enjoyable to climb as it is to descend. It contains twisty switchbacks and steep turns that traverse the hill efficiently, giving a good workout along the way.

The turns are tight enough that it becomes difficult to descend this trail with any real speed. That's why 8 Bells is considered to be one of the better climbs in the park. When you reach the top, you are presented with a beautiful view through the trees of downtown Durango.

Disclaimer

This is a two-way trail. Hikers and riders descending must be careful to look out for people climbing the trail. Be safe!
