This short segment is a huge double gravity cavity, trumping the one found at River Highlands in size. It is best ridden from north to south. Due to roots, it is very difficult to make it when ridden south to north. Even when ridden from north to south, there is a root that often zaps a rider's momentum; but with enough pedal force, you will still make it. It often takes multiple attempts to make it, especially if riding this segment for the first time. In this, failure leads to great success, which is why we named it "Apollo 13."
