This route travels through a zone of forest that was heavily hit by an intense blowdown storm in 2016. It has been closed ever since and is currently open for winter use only. Despite the state of the forest the trail itself is a nice example of traditional hand built singletrack that gently rolls through the terrain. Nothing is overly difficult but if you go clockwise there is a nice 1/2 mile decent off the far back side of the loop that is fast with good flow.
