The Blue Loop is the largest loop at John Muir There are some challenging climbs and lots of "baby head" rocks. Beginners will find very ridable. This trail will see heavy usage on weekends during prime season. The Blue Loop includes the Nome Loop, which is on the far north end of the John Muir Trails. Use the Blue to get to the connector trail that takes you to the Emma Carlin trails.

Trail was muddy today, due to a nice rain the day before. This is a great crosscountry trail. A perfect loop before noon. BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT!!!

Trail system is dry and fast. From John Muir through Emma Carlin.

Elevation gain is actually under 900 feet. Not sure why the listing is so wrong.

Trail was open but quite muddy on the southern end. Connector was dry.

Trails are hard packed with occasional muddy low shaded areas. Ideal for cross country riding. Sandy areas are very dry.
