Beautiful old XC style single track trail. "Cable Trail" is so called because of large old cable remains at side of trail from days gone by of hand-logging days with oxen This trail is best enjoyed if ridden counter-clockwise direction.
Backside of trail is accessed off W8 through a small "Portal Bridge". Don't miss it - keep your eyes peeled at junction of Howling Wolf, W8, Cable point!
So beautiful and worth the ride for a secluded green loamy/rocky trail that won't give you a break but will have your soul in touch with the rich green earth.

I rode the loop portion of this a few days ago. Some fine folks (from QRCA?) were out checking in on trail conditions and asked me to report on the back end of that trail. It's pretty well overgrown at the foot of the big hill -- like riding through a salmon berry bush. It definitely needs a brushing. All the forest riding was great though. Nice trail.

So we had a window of opportunity and went out this evening. Several hours spent clearing majority of trail from bottom of switchback (backside) all the way to the bridge home.
Trail was severely overgrown in some spots the trail was enveloped by fresh green growth!!
Cleared and ready to ride now though!!

Hey Bikebb, I still think some serious brushing needs to be done at the bottom of the hill al around km 4 (see my pics). If you have the tools and need some help let me know.
