Either direction will provide a challenge to reach the summit of this trail. The west half is less steep, rocky, and technical, but is a much longer uphill hike/bike. The east side starts with a section of rock steps (if biking, a good "squirrel catcher" to test yours skills... clean most of it, you'll enjoy this trail) followed by several rocky switchbacks. Once the trail starts to straighten out, generally less steep (more ridable on a bike - not easy) to the summit. May see xmas decorations or a roadrunner catching moths at the top, plus great views.
