Circle Trail is a great, primitive and narrow descent from Section Point on the Colorado Trail into the town of Rico, CO. The top section is difficult for route finding before the single track becomes well defined.

This is a tight bench cut singletrack traversing along some steep slopes from the CT down to Silver Creek Road in Rico. The trail tread is tight (about 12") and there is a pretty good amount of exposure on your left the whole way down. There aren't any major technical moves (a few rocks and roots to navigate) but the exposure keeps your speed in check on the way down and the narrow trail keeps your focus high. Easy to build up speed quick so make sure your brakes are working good before dropping in.

Hi G, thanks for your report! It appears all deadfall have been cleared from the trail as of May 20. I hiked from the bottom all the way to the entrance at the yellow sign on top and it was clear. Only 2 small snow patches on the trail that will probably melt off in the next couple of days. Enjoy!!

As of Saturday May 12 there were trees across the trail in 6 locations and a few snowy spots. With the exception of one place where several trees were down together, getting over the trees was not difficult. Still a lot of snow up on top between the saddle and junction with the CT.
