Countess track is a 4WD track. Southern end climbs strongly out of the Yankee Mine area but once you get a bit further north it becomes a bit more levelled out. The southern section on the climb can become very rutted depending on when the grader last went through and how the 4WDs have been treating the trail. Varies between something you could get a 2WD up to waist deep ruts. In reasonable condition at the time of writing (start 2021). There is a massive mine shaft on the western side of the track about half way up the hill if you want a look. The hill to the east of the trail is peppered with large shafts and adits.
