This hiking trail follows the Economy River below Economy Falls. The trail offers wonderful views of the river from cliffs as high as 50 m. Other sections of the trail run along the rich floodplain and riparian zone. The trail winds through mature forests of maple, beech, birch, red spruce and hemlock. Watch for white-tailed deer, birds of prey, songbirds and a variety of wildflowers. Economy Falls is at the north end of the trail.

Route 2 to Economy. North onto River Phillip Road (unpaved road, rough sections), follow road and signs for 4 km to Devil's Bend Trail (lower) parking area, or 7 km to Economy Falls (upper) parking area.

      We hiked one way from the lower parking lot entrance to the upper parking lot (closest the falls). 2:07 total with ~10 minutes of breaks - on normal ground we’d cover that distance in 1:20 - there are lots of ups and downs...beautiful pathway through vibrant moss much of the way. About 10000 steps.
