This trail more or less follows Rattlesnake Ridge from the Degan Mountain Road to Rattlesnake Road. Although it may be preferred as a downhill, it's also a very nice climb through cool forests, with nothing overly steep. This trail does not get a lot of use and may be hard to follow in a few spots, particularly where it crosses open meadows. If you're up for a big ride, use this trail to climb to the ridge, then take your pick of big descents - Thunder Mountain, Lake Mountain/Henry Creek, or back down the Double R - it's all good. If shuttling is more your game, it's not a short one - it's a long way up Williams Creek Road to Williams Summit, and then 9 miles along the Ridge Road/Degan Mountain Road from Williams Summit to the top of Double R.
