Some fun, fast and flowy sections. Definitely prefer this and the south loop trail to the Z trail, which has very few fast sections to let it rip.
This is a singletrack trail that has a few bridges and lots of roots for a rider to negotiate. The trail is directional and depending on the day of the week it will be ridden either clockwise or counter-clockwise. It has a number of shortcuts, access connecting spurs and different trail names that may misdirect a new rider. The trail has local names for some of the sections such as "Tornado Alley" and "Devil Stick". It is also often named "Long Trail" on many signs along the trail. Coupling the various names, signs and twisting nature of the trail a rider may feel lost. At one section the trail merges with a small access road to the Allen Shaw primitive campsite - the rider must follow the access road to rejoin the singletrack, but the signs may not be obvious the first time through.
