This is a double track that can be ridden up or down. If you are leaving the summit of Twin Peaks heading down into Sage this adds more mileage but allows you to avoid the unsustainable fall line of a trail to the south. It will spit you out on the forest service road below and from there it's easy cruising into Sage Hills on more double and single track. As of summer of 2016 it was getting overgrown with a few downed trees but it's wide enough that it's easy to follow.
For those of you climbing up Twin Peaks to the summit, this will take off some of the mileage instead of staying on the main road.
