The trail climbs up from Mckee Draw and then the meanders through the pinon forest and into the burned forest that provides some interesting scenery. Finally looping back to the end of the McKee Draw Trail where you can follow the draw back to the parking area.

This can also be done in reverse by hiking up McKee Draw Trail and then heading up Flat Iron Loop Trail in the opposite direction. Both directions are terrific and scenic. Give yourself at least 2-2.5 hours for this entire loop.

        Note both the kiosk Map and signpost at trail entrance note the trail is Hike/Horse Only, Mountain Bikes not allowed
