I added photos of the start of the trail from the eastern side - it's in an open field that has an old barn with a large silo. We initially though the trail started behind the silo as there's a more clearly groomed path, but that seemed to just lead to the barn. There is, however, good space to park on the opposite side of the road from the barn that is a short walk from the actual start of the trail at the other side of the field. We did not end up hiking the trail, as the path was a little too overgrown for the attire we had on (the trail sites all said the path was well marked and groomed and pulling off ticks was not part of our plan for the day) but hopefully these photos help other hikers find the trail more easily than we did!
