Mostly ok, but some horseback riders decided it was a good idea to ride this trail after a heavy rain and post-holed a chunk of this trail. Some...

Hiked this on 9/10/2026. Beautiful! Started from the Group Camp site at Washington Lake and took it to the far side of Shadow Lake. Epic! Beautiful! 100% recommend! Fairly flat hike at 10,000 feet only 370 ft elevation change.

Relatively mellow trail. The mid-to-end sections (towards Haystack) have a lot of chunky cobbles and boulders you have to walk through but it’s really nothing. Horseback riders have ripped up the trail pretty good around 1.25-1.75mi in with large postholes from their horses following a heavy rain.

Attempted this trail with several beginners. It was over within the first half mile. Very technical..it’s green because there isn’t much elevation change, but not green based on the Terrain
